It's official, downtown Los Angeles is a hipster haven now that Acne have opened up shop there. It's the swedish fashion brand's second store stateside, and at approx. 5,000 sq.ft. [465 sqm.] It's also its biggest yet. Situated on the ground floor of the eastern columbia building, a beautiful art deco-style highrise built in 1930 by architect Claud Beelman, the store bears all the hallmarks of a flagship.
The spacious dimensions are seamlessly compatible with acne's new minimalist retail aesthetic of steel paneling and concrete flooring, concocted by longtime collaborator Bozarthfornell architects. The store configuration is as such that open spaces are alternated with more secluded sections, each presenting a different part of acne's men's and women's collection.
